Who Is Advance?

Advance is Japan’s premier Acura NSX specialist. The Story of Advance

The Advance store opened in April of 1991 along R246 in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Japan, which is close to its current location. Advance was initially a different type of shop compared to the convention tuning shop that mainly sold popular items that were featured in magazines like “OPTION” at the time. Advance now carries out maintenance and tuning of the Acura NSX, Nissan GT-R, Toyota Supra, Nissan Silvia, Mazda RX-7, and more in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City!

Both the Advance staff and its customers actively participated in the “Circuit Driving Meeting” that grew increasingly popular; it was eventually held in-house and at the Fuji Speedway in June of 1993. The first “advanced driving event” has been an Advance specialty event for more than 20 years. The event is not just a special part of the brand itself, but also very useful for developing new products, testing them, and collecting vital data. 

Commitment to Quality

Advance believes that car parts are not just “theoretical reasons on the desk”, but that they must be mounted on a vehicle and tested in extreme conditions before being recommended with confidence. This kind of work is not done by a professional driver, but by the Advance staff themselves. They run the products and check them from the point of view of the user, which allows them to provide a more authentic answer to customer questions. In other words, if Advance does not enjoy or fully stand by a product it produces, you can be sure that it will not reach the aftermarket until it meets their stringent standards.
