Baja Kits Aluminum | Stamped Steel Upper Control Arm
$899.00

If you’re looking to beef up your Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, you’ll want to check out these upper control arms. Designed with some serious thought, these fabricated, boxed arms bring a whole new level of strength to your ride. They’re not just about looks; they actually allow for much more wheel travel compared to the stock setup, especially when you pair them with an extended-length aftermarket shock. This means you can tackle rough terrain without worrying about losing stability on the road, thanks to the added caster we built into these arms.

Speaking of strength, we’ve swapped out the flimsy stock ball joints for Trophy Truck-grade uniballs. This upgrade gives you maximum articulation and performance, whether you’re rolling in 2WD or 4WD. If you’ve already lifted your truck, you probably know how stock ball joint angles can get maxed out. These arms work perfectly with your existing lift kit, so you won’t have to worry about compatibility.

Now, let’s talk specs. You can expect up to 9 inches of wheel travel when you pair these with Baja Kits custom King Shocks. They’re designed for a lift range of 0 to 3 inches, and if you’re thinking about wheel backspacing, stick with a max of 4.75 inches. We’ve also got your back with a variety of control arm materials—stamped steel, aluminum, and forged steel—so you can choose what fits your needs best.

For the 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, GM rolled out a few different upper control arms, and it can be a bit of a puzzle figuring out what fits with what. The stamped steel and aluminum arms have a larger ball joint that works with the same knuckle, while the steel knuckles paired with forged steel control arms have smaller ball joint holes. Basically, if you’re working with a forged steel or aluminum arm, you’ll have retention clips on the ball joint—so if the cup distorts, you won’t have to worry about it failing. The newer stamped steel arms, however, have a ball joint sandwiched between the upper and lower pieces without those clips, which could lead to some issues if they get distorted.

Here’s a quick rundown of the features:

  • CAD designed boxed UCA for added durability
  • Custom Hi-Density Bushings with grease fittings for a quiet, squeak-free ride
  • 1-inch Trophy Truck-grade uniballs to replace those weak stock ball joints
  • CNC machined corrosion-resistant misaligns for easy stock upright/spindle adaptation
  • Increased caster angle to help with on-road stability and handling after lifting

As for the nitty-gritty details:

  • Track Width: Stock width
  • Lift: 0-3 inches

What you’ll need:

  • Shocks: Aftermarket Replacement 2.5 & 3.0 Shocks
  • Tire Size: 33 inches recommended for most, but be ready to trim a bit. 35 inches are popular, but you’ll need to do some significant trimming.
  • Wheel Size: 17-inch rims with a max backspacing of 4.75 inches

What’s included in the kit? Everything comes pre-assembled and ready to install, just like you see in the photos:

  • Boxed Upper Arms
  • Baja Kits Badges & Rivets
  • Hi-Density Custom Bushings
  • Crush Sleeves
  • Zerk fittings
  • 1-inch uniballs
  • Countersunk Top Misaligns & 12-point bolts
  • Heat Treated Tapered Misalign Adapters

Plus, you’ll get an install guide and a Baja Kits sticker pack to show off your upgrade.

Installation is pretty straightforward—level 1, bolt-on stuff, and it should take about 2 hours, though that might vary a bit depending on your skill level.

These arms fit GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models from 2014 onward, both in 2WD and 4WD. Just a heads up, the images might not perfectly match the actual product, but you’ll get the idea.

Baja Kits Production Process

Baja Kits products are like no other. The process starts with CAD files directly given by some of the top automotive manufacturers such as Ford, Chevy, and Jeep. They then build around it and clock countless hours to develop the best geometry possible, enabling them to produce products that we know of today.

Built For Use On And Off The Road

The designers then formulated a product with the same design and engineering that Baja has used with its Trophy truck and Class 1 racecar, which can be utilized for extreme offroad usage or daily driving.

The company is best known for its boxed upper and lower control arms that boast strength and aesthetics. Baja Kits ensures that they create the best possible product for the consumer. Their kits are designed to aesthetically improve the look of your vehicle and its overall drivability and performance.
