When it comes to shock technology, Bilstein is the real deal. Their nitrogen-filled separate chamber system has been the go-to for shock absorbers for years, and it’s easy to see why. We’ve been using these Aluminum Body Bilstein Shocks as the backbone of our Coil Over package for quite some time now, and they’ve never let us down.
What sets these shocks apart? Well, Lou and the engineers at Bilstein really nailed the valving after countless hours on both the track and the street. They’ve crafted a setup that works beautifully for both daily drivers and race cars. If you’ve followed our journey, you know we’ve had some serious success with the Bilstein/LG Coil Over package, taking on tough competitors and coming out on top.
Now, if you’re considering a Coil Over package, there are a few things you should definitely keep in mind:
- Material: Are the shocks made from heavy steel or lightweight aluminum? Trust me, aluminum makes a difference.
- Gas-Filled Technology: Make sure it has a separate gas chamber. If not, you’ll end up with air bubbles in the oil, which can mess with the shock’s performance.
- Spring Quality: What brand are you getting? Eibach and Hypercoil are solid choices. Avoid those no-name springs that sag over time.
- Shock Length: You don’t want them bottoming out in a corner. We worked with Bilstein to get our shocks custom lengthened, so you won’t have to worry about that issue.
- Adjustability: Our Shock/Spring package is designed for real-world performance, not just a generic solution. It was developed by Lou alongside Bilstein’s engineers, right at the racetrack.
