Stock TCU tunes include software limiters that restrict engine power when torque limits are exceeded from ECU tuning. For Q5 models with locked TCUs, our calibration team has custom-coded the engine control unit (ECU) programming to properly manage torque signals to and from the transmission. This advanced strategy safely enables full horsepower and torque, even without a TCU tune.

- Engine ECU tuning is compatible with 2017-2020 model years only, and is incompatible with the new 2021+ ECU variations. Transmission TCU tunes are compatible with DL382 DSG Gen 1 transmissions only up to most 2020 model years. In some rare cases, 2019 and 2020 model year vehicles may be equipped with unsupported Gen 2 TCU variations.
