2021+ model years and some 2019-2020 variations are equipped with a Gen 2 factory transmission control unit (TCU) with advanced factory security that locks them from tuning. Stock TCU tunes include software limiters that restrict engine power when torque limits are exceeded from ECU tuning. For Q5 models with locked TCUs, our calibration team has custom-coded the engine control unit (ECU) programming to properly manage torque signals to and from the transmission. This advanced strategy safely enables full horsepower and torque, even without a TCU tune.

- Engine ECU tuning is compatible with 2017-2020 model years only, and is incompatible with the new 2021+ ECU variations. Transmission TCU tunes are compatible with DL382 DSG Gen 1 transmissions only up to most 2020 model years. In some rare cases, 2019 and 2020 model year vehicles may be equipped with unsupported Gen 2 TCU variations.
