The W3 seat is a reclined seat with a formula race car driving position. This is the black GRP version with edges on and no backframe which weighs 2 kg and is 43 cm wide. Seat belt harness holes are included. A five or six point harness is advised with any reclined seat. An alternative and popular covering option is a Dinamica suede two-piece seat pad set which is a special-order item.

During the ’70s, with the introduction of stickier tires for karting, it is common for racers to have ribbed bruises due to slipping and sliding in their seats. By using fabric from a used motor vehicle and attaching it on the seat, they were able to eliminate the injuries. 

This, in turn, allowed them to attack the corners more aggressively compared to their competitors. It was noticed by other racers as well. It eventually led to them ordering the same seats for their race cars.
