The STBI side mounting brackets point outwards from the seat to allow for easy access to the chassis mounting bolts. They are identical to the PTBI but made of 5mm aluminum and powder coated. The seats can be tipped, raised and lowered. They are compatible with all versions of the B6 Screamer, the B6 with side mount option, the B7, B8 and B9, which all have mounting bolts at 2 degrees. They can be run with Tillett STRO or PTRO sliders for non-XL width seats, though it generally recommended to not user sliders in race car applications. Fixed mount to chassis is recommended.

During the ’70s, with the introduction of stickier tires for karting, it is common for racers to have ribbed bruises due to slipping and sliding in their seats. By using fabric from a used motor vehicle and attaching it on the seat, they were able to eliminate the injuries. 

This, in turn, allowed them to attack the corners more aggressively compared to their competitors. It was noticed by other racers as well. It eventually led to them ordering the same seats for their race cars.
